Title too short

A title that is too short gives Google and visitors little to go on. By default, Snaglist flags titles shorter than 30 characters.

Why it matters

A short title such as Home or Services says little about the page and leaves room unused that could convince someone to click.

How Snaglist checks it

Snaglist counts the characters in the title of every indexable page and lists titles below the threshold, with the title and its length.

Common causes

  • Titles that only contain the page name, such as Contact
  • A template that leaves out the site or brand name
  • Pages that were never given a proper title

How to fix it

  1. Add what the page offers and for whom.
  2. Add the brand or place name where it helps.
  3. Aim for roughly 30 to 60 characters.
