Your site links to a profile where the brand name is written differently than on the site: other capitals, a space or a hyphen.
A visitor who clicks through sees two slightly different names. Search engines and AI assistants build their picture of a business from its name across the web, and different spellings make that picture vague.
Snaglist takes the profiles your site names in the header, footer, menu and sameAs in the structured data, and looks at them as a visitor without an account. It follows robots.txt there too. It can read YouTube, TikTok, Vimeo, Mastodon and Bluesky. Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Pinterest and Threads do not allow bots, so Snaglist does not read them and says so in the block with profiles on the crawl page and in the report. It compares only names that contain your brand name, and never reports a profile it could not read. The standard is the brand name on the site page, or otherwise the spelling your site uses.
Snaglist reports this as a notification. It costs 2 percent of the page in the health score. Good to know, and sometimes a deliberate choice.
In the report for your client this appears under the heading "Your name on a profile differs from your site". When everything is in order, the report says: "The profiles we could read use the same name as your site".
Snaglist checks every page of your site, for this issue and all the others. Start for free, no credit card needed.
